Prof. Kudeki's EVEX rocket experiment, carried out from the Kwajalein Atoll in the South Pacific will generate new insight into the physics responsible for the development of equatorial spread-F. SpaceDaily has the details.
Prof. Swenson has received funding to develop and launch LAICE, a cubesat that will demonstrate a new magnetic torqueing altitude control system while making measurements of neutral and ion density in the lower ionosphere. The LAICE project is a collaboration between RSSS and Virginia Tech. More details can be found here.
